| In the majority of cases, commercial ERW Clearance
Contractor operations are carried out according to military principles
by using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's). In many ERW Clearance
SOP's, Quality Assurance (QA) is a short section which states that
Quality Control (QC) will be conducted by re-clearing a certain area.
This however in no way assures that the entire ERW Clearance process has
been conducted satisfactorily, and therefore the act of merely
re-clearing a "certain area" using the same method will not prove that
the work meets or exceeds the Quality criteria required. The only
proven way that a Client can effectively control and measure that the
level of Quality achieved by an ERW Clearance Contractor is in
accordance with their requirements, and those of the internationally
recognised International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) is to
ensure that the Contractor has an approved Quality Management System in
place and that the implementation thereof is monitored by an
independent and impartial body, both in the field, and at operational
support facility level.
Qualissol can provide their Clients with an independent ERW
Clearance Quality Assurance and Quality Control service, which monitors
